Gary Leland of Podcast Pickle announced that from more than 13,000 podcast shows listed on the Podcast Pickle, they now have only 7,000 podcast shows on their directory because of 6,000 deleted podcasts. This is a good move for Podcast Pickle and is worth following by other directories because for more than two years now, it is true that there were so many shows that podfaded already.

Why care for so many lists when almost half of the podcasts included in your directory is inactive? This usually turns off potential listeners when they see that there are so many podcasts that seems to be outdated. I think, anybody will prefer browsing the list of few but alive and active shows over those directories with so many podfaded shows. So I guess, this makes Podcast Pickle the best podcast directory nowadays because all of the podcasts that are listed there are guaranteed alive.
